Today i attempted to tidy up the wiring, with mixed results.

I am trying to get the routing right to give it a semblance of order.

Re: Z 1000 St E2

The carbs have been completely rebuilt and the intake rubbers are pattern parts. What is happening is that after the throttle is blipped it takes a while to return to tick over. But once it is at tick-over it idles quite nicely, i sealed the carb rubber to cylinder head with silicon. The carburetors...

Had a leak to the cam box, fitted a cometic gasket and APE half moons. This seems to have solved the problem, next up i resealed the carb intake rubbers and refitted the carbs. IMG_4705.JPG I adjusted the acelerator pump shaft to 4mm as sugested in the clymer manual. IMG_4706.JPG After refitting the...

Compression test

I have caried out a compression test on a Z 1000 st E2, it has new valves and the barrels have been honed with new rings. No:1 shows 160psi No:2 133. No:3 140 and No: 4 145 psi. Is these reading what i should expect or are they too far out from one another.

Re: Z1000st E2 1980 ignition switch

I have asked Zpower if they had one and they said they do not do them. The type on my ST has a built in steering lock on it and has six wires in a block connector, as well as a separate brown wire. The key keeps falling out!
