Re: Rear Brake Torque Arm Wanted

Pretty sure this is a Z1000A1 arm - probably not what you are after.

Re: Rear Brake Torque Arm Wanted

I have one that came with the bits with my z1000a1 - I have no idea if it's even from the bike - it is either new or been powder coated and is still wrapped up - I will check it out tonight for you.

Z1000A1 AIR BOX - BUY OR SWAP

Hi all - hope that it's ok to put this wanted up like this - if anyone has an air box that would suit my nearly finished 1977 Z1000a1 I would be very interested to purchase. If you have one spare but would rather swap than sell I have the following items that could be traded A Fuel Tank - believed t...

Air Box Identification Please

Hi all - everything was going so well with my build - carbs on, motor running - thought that I would have a look at the airbox's that came with the bike and pick the best one - but there is no facility with either to fit a filter? So i'm guessing whatever these are off it isn't a 1977 z1000a1. Which...

Jeez Philippe - that's perfect - I don't know about a marriage proposal but I'd certainly shake your hand in a really reserved British Way - alternatively have a proper Cornish

Re: Z1000A1 - Basket Case Build

Thank's Philippe - as always - thats really helpful - I wont get another chance to get in the garage until Thursday by which time I should have the last few items turn up in order to finish up. I need to fit the cable guides and route all the cables correctly if anyone has some close up pics to help...

Re: Z1000A1 - Basket Case Build

Today has been a good day - like really good! Finished up with the carbs and fitted them, even managed to rescue the original intake mounts. It's not that I'm tight, I just think for my builds I would rather refurbish and use as much of the original bike as possible even if the end result shows it's...

Plus one on Mikey's plating - his zinc work almost makes chrome redundant - easy to talk to as well

Re: Z1000A1 - Basket Case Build

Building wheels is not too hard - but it is easy to get in a tangle. I used to build hundreds of custom cycle wheels it's pretty much the same. There is no magic or black art - they are either right or wrong. Correct spoke length and getting the first spoke right is the key. After that its painting ...

Re: Garage tidy up Zed parts for sale

Many thanks Will - I have got them 'just in case' My original set are untested and the idiot light displays are poor. It seemed like a good opportunity.

Re: Z1000A1 - Basket Case Build

IMG_4769.JPG Happy with that - two stainless rims laced, tension'ed, trued and ready to go. Snuck them through under the radar at work! Day off tomorrow so fit the tyres and tubes and take the weight off the stand. Carbs stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, jetted rebuilt and polished (to a reasonable...

Rear wheel built thanks to Adrian H - just going to start on the front and with a fair wind she might be on her rubber tomorrow!
