Re: Z1000 A2 Advice
I've not fully rebuilt an engine before, although have worked on quite a few bikes over the years, and was looking for advice. Should I take the head and cylinders off and take somewhere for a re-bore (assuming that's what it needs) or just take the whole thing to someone far more expert than me?? ...

Z1000A airbox bits
Don't all laugh at once....
I've got the main bit of the airbox, but am missing the lid, one of the little drain caps off the bottom, and the silencer at the back.
Anything considered.
Thanks,
Olly

I have a spare z1100 frame with no headstock I am just about to scrap. If you want it to chop up for frame tube youre welcome to it. Thanks for the kind offer, I think I'll pass on it as its a long way to ship a scrap frame. Seeing as the headstock is already cut out, is there any chance that you c...

To me it sounds the effort / cost / reward equation is simply not worth it. Especially for what is aiming to be a standard ish bike. A Z1000 with taper bearings and modern tyres goes pretty good. For normal road riding I doubt you will notice the extra bracing. Z1000 frames are slightly upgraded fr...

Well, shows how much I know.... I'd never heard of Webike, or Z1 enterprises. Webike have a lot of shiny shiny things.... You could spend some serious money on that site. Damned if I can find their frame kits though. Any chance of someone posting a link? I'm guessing that the prices shown would be p...

I don't think it is possible to buy kits anymore, I spent quite a while looking. I found a few posts on US sites which suggest that kosman arent interested anymore, so aren't reliable. I think it was them that I emailed a few years ago when I was looking at improving a gpz1100b2 frame. After a few t...

z1000 frame bracing
Hello all, I'm rebuilding a z1000a1, which is going to be a very standard looking bike, though I'm considering bracing the frame , especially the under tank section as it just looks like they forgot to finish it off! If I do it I'll make a simplified version of what Sanctuary do, though looking as '...

frame and caliper paint
Good afternoon, any recommendations for frame and various bracket paint on a z1000a1? I want to replicate the slightly off gloss black (not satin) finish used on these bikes, as full gloss don't look right, which is probably why kawa didn't use it. I'm a bit sniffy about powder coating because I don...
