Re: Z1000 R2 chain guard

ELR chainguards are as rare as rocking horse shit. and no one seems to make reproductions either.

Re: chain and sprockets

I had Talon make me a 530 dural rear sprocket for my ELR, there is some sort of equation for converting the 630 sprocket sizes to the 530 equivalent, buggered if I can remember it though.

Re: Clutch adjuster J type three bearing.

In the cmsl diagram I noticed that there is a comp clutch release, does this give any additional leverage/ pull over the original. And does it need any additional items to work other than the standard ones. As it looks as though it may be a cheaper alternative to the PMC kit.

Re: New Here... RubberChicken

Trust me on this I have known 'Rubber Chicken Paul' for years, we met as dispatch riders. The rubber chicken is indeed legendary, drivers would get really confused and not know how to react. An incredibly hilarious sight to behold I assure you!

Re: Lawson Jigsaw Project

I had a similar problem on my ELR, the stripped threads were over come by getting an engineering co. to install brass/bronze stud then mill flat and driil and tap to m6. The lack of compression on mine was turned out to be partly down to a cracked valve guide, all guides then got replaced and head r...

Re: Flatsides for z1100r

Just an additional bit of advice you must fit a push/pull throttle. as the carbs will hang on closing without one. I know as I tried it without and the afore mentioned happened.

Re: Flatsides for z1100r

Plus one on AL's advice, I have the same set as him, and bought a set of rs36 on advice from debben whilst the elr wants to go like a scalded cat at 6k and over. It does feel a bit boggy low down. I haven't had it on the dyno yet mind you, so a bit of fettling and a morning at the dyno centre may sm...
