Re: Aoshima 900 model kit, colour.?

Like Philippe my eyesight is not what it used to be, I started Aoshima z1b kit a while back, I made a complete hash of it. It now resides in the wardrobe unfinished.
My standard was never going to a threaten Philippe’s degree of realism even when my sight was good :(

Re: How to find out original colour

Is there a wear on the paint that reveals the original colour, mine had worn through where the seat touched the tail piece, I could see blue paint underneath.

Wanted 28mm mikuni carb slider

Whilst refurbing my carbs, I stripped th first carb and put the components in my new ultrasonic cleaner, great bit of kit, very efficient! It was a bit too efficient as it took the gold green coating off the slider. :sad Does anyone have a spare slider that they would be willing to part with. Beer t...

Best use of a Harley part ever :D

I don’t think it was ever going to be used for anything more useful.

Float bowl pivot pins

I have just got a set of 28mm mikuni’s for my Z1B, they were gummed up solid, I have got the sliders moving freely, the floats were gummed up and wouldn’t move, with carb cleaner and acf50 I got them moving fairly well. I remember reading a post a year or so back about someone breaking off the post ...

Re: Idiots guide to setting up carbs

Are you sure it is the carbs? Lots of time and money is spent tinkering with carbs only to find out that there is something else going on. No amount of carb afjustment will solve a low compression issue, so it is worth eliminating this possibility sooner, rather than later. One of the most common c...

Re: Still carb issues

I would still try swapping fuel pipes over, when you check fuel levels in carbs they have had time to fill up.
