DOT 5 Silicon Brake Fluid

I use DOT 5 silicon brake and clutch fluid in my TRs and whilst it gives long-life and protection to the paintwork it does make the brake pedal feel a little bit spongy, but I'd sooner that than use DOT 4 mineral fluid given the protection and known potential downside of DOT 5. My A4 uses DOT 4, but...

Mystifying, there's over 110 miles between Barrie Robson BMW in York and Abbey M/Cs in Leicester and the writing is the same? :??

Sun out, no licence, so went fishing, and..............

..........and, this what I fished out of the Z900’s petrol tank! God only knows how many years they’ve been in there, but one is for a BMW K100 and the other for a RD125 LC Mk2 - hopefuly that one didn't have the string attached when it was 'dropped' in! Not sure what the abbreviation...

Love it, a CHiPs Z1000!
£900 seems a fair price and I hope it gets restored to its former glory.

Glad you have some good folk looking after you.

Thanks. I was told that too, but finding out at the CT stage is too late for some who ignore the symptoms completely.

Andrew, It was good to meet you again at Stafford this year, Until you told me, I didn't realise what had happened. It would have been easy to keep things to yourself, but by sharing it, you just may have saved someone else. :up Thanks Steve, I think it's important to be open about these things, be...

Steve, Mark - thanks for your best wishes, appreciated. I'm pleased with my recovery and now looking forward to Christmas and a gradual return to work sometime in January. Sad I know, but been riding the Z900 down my drive, killing the engine, getting off, turning it round and then riding back up, j...

Re: 1976 Z900 - Various Parts

A NOS or good used original Z900/1000 twin disc set-up is a rare thing - discs are NLA as they're 7mm - repro discs are available but look too thin to my mind, but will do the job as others will state. The exhaust can be repaired and rechromed providing the metal isn't too thin, but it won't be chea...

Re: Petrol cap removal

Getting it out is a breeze with a like-size drift/punch and gentle tapping. Putting it back in a freshly painted tank will make you sweat more! Hadn’t thought that far ahead .... bugger already thinking bubble rap and tape Avoid bubble wrap and tape on fresh paintwork, the tape is likely to etch in...

Re: Health Warning: you never know what's round the corner.....

Thanks, and it was good catch up with many folk at Stafford, even though I didn't stay long - recovery is going well and I'm hoping to start a phased return to work in January - driving and riding will have to wait until early July 20, but at least I will be able to.
