Re: Regulator..Rectifier

Thanks for the advice guys, checked both the RR and the stator, and it would appear the latter is at fault. Very little coming out at all. New one it is then.....

Re: Regulator..Rectifier

Cheers Dave, its just a thought process, a couple of decent runs and the battery's going. The RR was new from fleebay and it just might be a dud. Im just re charging the battery now and when its back on the bike ill test the voltage when it's running.

Regulator..Rectifier

Chaps, anyone got an easy method of testing a combined regulator/ rectifier. Mine is new but I am not convinced it doing it's job.
I've seen the YouTube post from electicworld etc, but would like some further pointers with a multimeter. Basically the battery keeps dying.

Re: Starter Clutch

Thanks for that... Spent most of the day trying every combination known to man. With washers, without, finished up reducing the large copper washer next to the crank. Beats me why this should happen, suspect a slightly worn stator or thd taped on the crank. Anyway it works, not texbook but there you...

Re: Starter Clutch

Thanks for that, i had a hunch it should be spinning.
Reference the damper, i don't have one. What is the part number for that. My sequence is.....
Firstly. Thicker washer, Shafer inwards.
Drive gear
thinner thrust washer
starter clutch
Key, then nut. Am I missing something.

Starter Clutch

Slight issue with the starter clutch assembly here chaps.. Finally started the Z1b project up for the first time, only to get a screeching from the S.C. side. Removed the cover but I'm not sure if the big rear drive plate should spin freely from the clutch when fully tightened. If I loosen the bolt ...
