Re: tank cleaning
I have used DEOX-C to great effect - cleaned my wife's CBR125 tank perfectly, and it was very bad, including the fuel pump. Used WD40 then 2 stroke mix to keep it from re-rusting until we could fill it with Petrol. This stuff works well on all rusty parts.

Crankshaft advice
I wasn't sure if I should post this here or on the discussion board, because it is concerning pricing advice that I need. I know this is a question that does not have a definitive or correct answer, but I am looking for input on what everyone thinks a very low mileage KZ1000A2/Z1R crankshaft would b...

Re: Z1R Restoration Completed
Lovey restoration, well done. Its not AFT 420V is it. Been looking for my old bike for many years. I was the first owner, bought from Kawasaki Newcastle. Sold it when I moved to Canada in 1987 - Wish I still had it

Re: Newbie originally from the North East
Thanks Paul,
If I had just one penny for the times I have wished that I never sold AFT 420V!!!. I did buy an A2 fairly recently that I should get bAck on the road again. It's all original but not having run for mainly years it needs some talc.

Re: Newbie originally from the North East
Chris, the biking scene here, is totally different in so many ways. The main difference is the weather, which for many of the provinces means that riding season could be 6 months or less. Vancouver is probably the closest, weather wise to the uk and has a longer season. This means that most people d...

Re: Newbie originally from the North East
Thank you to you both. AFT 420V was stock except for some Koni shocks and a rear rack. I replaced the front mudguard due to rust starting to show on the rivets. You could tell because the replacement from Kawasaki was for a bigger wheel. Not sure if I correct, because that was probably to standardis...

Re: Newbie originally from the North East
Hi G,
Yes the 2 dealerships at the time had the same owners, Dave Winfield and Ron Aitcheson. Do you remember the MV 750 America they had in the Newcastle showroom when they first opened? First and last suede seat I had ever seen. Some lucky bugger must still have that.

Re: Newbie originally from the North East
Thanks chrisNI. The 911 thing never crossed my mind, but you could be right. Sorry for the delayed reply, but where I live now in Canada is 5 hours behind.

Newbie originally from the North East
Hello all, Originally from Throckley and purchased 6 bikes from the old "Kawasaki Newcastle"dealer in the 70's and early 80's. OTN 911R Z400, WNL 377T Z1000A2, AFT 420V Z1R, AFT 421V KE100, KE125 and GPZ 600 (first model). For some reason I can't remember the reg numbers of the 125 or the ...
