Re: Kawasaki day - Ace Cafe - 16th April

In past years the forum has been wall to wall with comments about going to the Ace Cafe for Kawasaki Day. I'm guessing that not so many going this year? It's a long ride for me (250miles round trip) and with my back problems not exactly pain free. I used to lead a ride from here, but I'm the only pl...

Re: Powder Coating Master Cylinders

I'll be doing the powder coating myself :D

I posted a similar request on ArseBook and a chap told me that new windows are available on fleabay, so I have searched and bought :D Good thing is that as they are being replaced I don't need to mask them before bead blasting :D

Powder Coating Master Cylinders

I need to powder coat a couple of 900R master cylinders (clutch and brake) for my special, but they have plastic level windows. I'm concerned that these will be damaged by the powder coat oven. I some how doubt that they will be removable nor replacable. HAs anyone had a master cylinder with a fluid...

Re: 900 rear wheel spacer dims

All made and ready to be fitted .... all I have to do now is find what I did with the bag of brand spanking new cush drive rubbers

It's only a dry build so I can leave the rubbers out for now. They'll come to light when I have bought a new set on the final build

Andy Gordon's Bike

I have been asked to offer his bikes for sale on here. His son has stated that he would like his Z1000A1 viewtopic.php?f=7&t=23109&start=60 to be sold to a member if at all possible. I have been asked to act as a point of contact, to help field the piss takers taking advantage. I hope that n...

Z900 / Z1000 valves / guides

I changed the guides in my 900A4 head for the iron guides used in the later thous. I re-cut the seats. The other day I was lapping in the valves ready to reassemble and having nipped .3mm off the stems. When I came to do the exhausts, the faces turned out to be more pitted than I expected considerin...

Yokes - stock or not?

I'm building an A4 special as though it were being done in the eighties. I am debating whether I would gain much by going through all the pain and misery of milling out some billet yokes on my little X3 milling machine. I know there are lovely CNC made items out there, but they weren't about in the ...

Brembo discs

My Z1300 special has period Brembo discs up and I would dearly love to get a set for my A4 special. I already have Harrison 4 pot calipers for it, but would like better discs, but I don’t want modern ones.

Anyone know what folk used for racing backing the day?
