As always - last year it was sent with My Hermes as a cost saving excercise (Jerry wouldn’t sanction UPS), which is why it was delivered late.

11th South West Rally

Despite my thinking ten rallies was enough for anyone, it seems myself and my good lady, the Current Bride, are again putting on the South West Rally. God knows where the ride-out will go this year  Back to the blind fold, map and pin again I guess  The magical mystery tour is waiting .....

Re: Time to move on...?

The old boiler of course is the exception  They were pretty OK on fuel and not mad powerband monsters.

But long distance on a YPVS, that can't have been comfy, nor cheap :lol

Both beautiful bikes!

Re: Time to move on...?

H2.jpg I get the stroker thing! When I ride the silly Purple Kawasaki it makes me laugh out loud, but is hugely impractical for real riding. There no fooking way I would consider riding to Yorkshire or Germany on it. Every year I ride longish distances on my Z1000A1. Strokers are hoot for local scr...

Re: Z1300 Water pump bevel drive

Thanks for the replies. There is a cover on the LHS that can be removed and shows the chain and sprocket, the other side of the 'wall' from the bevel gears and that is turning with the engine, but the impeller doesn't. I know from it's history that this low mileage engine has eaten one of the nylon ...

Z1300 Water pump bevel drive

I suspect that the bevel drive to my water pump is fucked on my Z1300A5. I have removed the impeller cover and the impeller can be turned by hand, which I am assuming suggests the nylon bevel gear is stripped.

Anyone on here done this job and give me any tips? I fear the head will have to come off?

Z650 Front discs

I am converting a customers bike to twin discs, but whilst he has a pair of calipers he hasn't got a pair of discs. The discs that came with the calipers are too small in diameter (from memory I think they may have been 275mm and he need bigger 'uns!

Re: Touch up paint

If you buy some fine grades of wet6 'n' dry 600, 800 & 1000grit you should be able to flat out the brush marks and then use some Farecla G3 polishing compound followed by some G10. Wet sand it using a block.

With a bit of practice you should be able to make it look pretty good!

Thanks to all that joined our merry throng at the weekend, despite the jetstream fucking up the weather. As a few of you know, I had intended that as the tenth rally that this was to be my last and hoped someone else would take on the job (unlikely I know). I was plied with much Butcombe ( real loca...
