Re: Bike lift

In the picture I posted the bike couldn’t have an exhaust on because the frame rails were supported directly on the lift deck. It comes with supports for the frame rails which are like long bolts with angle irons on the top. These are intended to give clearance for bits like the exhausts, sidestand,...

Re: Bike lift

"That looks like it might work I don't suppose you have a picture of the stand without the bike do you or the make/model of the stand?" I think it was a Constand - have a look on the Motea site site here: https://www.motea.uk/motorbike-scissor-lift-constands-midlift-xl-hydraulic-jack-500k...

Re: Bike lift

I used a Hydraulic short stand which I can use in the shed if I move the bikes around a bit. Or.... more recently, rebuilding the Z1000 in the dining room :D Something like this - Zed on stand.jpg These guys are a good place to start https://www.motea.uk/motorbike-stand?msclkid=28e1bcd2cb4219f793b4d...

Re: Z1000 A2 - brake light failure switch

Thanks all - I bit the bullet and did a deal with Warren. My soldering is pants - I've never seemed to get to grip with nice reliable tidy wiring.

Hopefully it will lead to a meet up with Warren at some stage as we've worked out that we are not too far from each other :D.

Re: Z1000 A2 - seat stopper thingie

Thanks All - got the idea now. Its the aftermarket seat lacking a retainer bracket. I'll have to fab one up when I have the bike on the road - still fiddling with it to get a first start out of it.... but that's another story !

Re: Z1000 A2 fuel tap

Really interesting - thanks for the info. Just rebuilt my vacuum tap but not yet got the project running. I've heard about problems with rebuild diaphragms not letting the fuel past, so will keep this option in mind

Re: Z1000 A2 - seat stopper thingie

What do you have on the frame? Just a hinge presumably. , Yes that's right, a sort of open box bracket that the spring nestles in and catch/support feeds through. If correct then the opposing bracket has a slot with a notch in it so that as you open the seat part 23 slides along the slot then click...

Re: Z1000 A2 - brake light failure switch

Gwan Warren - you know you want to!

Seriously though, I would really appreciate it if you could bring yourself to sell. What sort of price are we talking ?

Z1000 A2 - brake light failure switch

Thought I'd ask here, but I think I know the answer. Does anyone know where to source a brake light failure switch - the one that fits into the loom under the tank. An internet search came up blank, are these unobtainable these days ?

Re: Z1000 A2 - seat stopper thingie

Thanks for the replies - I do have the right bracket on the frame. - the spring nicely fits within it and the longer arm of the stopper is just the right length. Its how it interacts with the seat which has got me scratching my head. I have a Giuliari 2/4 seat on it at the moment and I'm thinking th...

Z1000 A2 - seat stopper thingie

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction here. I'm just coming to the end of a rebuild of my A2 and bought one of those seat stopper / restrictors from Z-Power. Thought fitting would be a breeze so didn't think very hard about it until trying to put it in place the other day. I'm sure m...

Re: Back again too/two

Now with a picture (I hope) after reading the 'how to'

Here's me about a week ago. Yes the bike is still in my dining room. The wife is a star... her patience is waning a bit now though :D

Back again too/two

Spurred on by Mikey's post, I'm in the same boat. Log-in details lost, including my ID, never mind password! I've been slowly rebuilding my Z1000 A2 which has been languishing in the shed for a few years after falling into my lap as a cheap rough runner (just). After some pondering I realised it nee...
