What bike do you have? as a z1/900 or even a z1000 should run with out a battery, not to be advised doing it for long as long as you dont have electronic ignition the battery could be a problem made by the real fault, or you have a dead short in your battery which may well be a answer to your proble...

yes
My advise is take to a painter who will flat it back to the base coat and re do all the lacquer coats

this is wise as there will be a reason the lacquer is lifting, so if only spots are done the rest will go the same way in time

when ever I put any thing alloy in my ultra cleaner it comes out dull not sure if this is the heat of the water,
cant see just bubbles would do that.

my thought is dunk it in hot water for a bit or big ultra sonic bath, if it come back looking to new from blasting
