Re: Getting a Z1000st soon

Hi Futter I have no idea what other brakes can be used on an ST, I do know that the brakes are the same as those mounted on a Z1300. Mind that you're dealing with a seventies bike and brakes! If you want to stop with an ST you must think ahead! In my experience the ST brakes work good as long as the...

Re: Z1000ST Seat

Hi Kev they're available now and then, have a look at "bike-teile.de" or "ebay-kleinanzeigen.de". Keep in mind that the layout of the seat pan is different compared to a MK2 seat. If you buy a new cover mind that these are also different! In my experience the seat pan of the ST i...

Re: found this and had to have it

Hi guys it's always a pleasure to meet nice people and to welcome them at my place! I didn't realise I'm a legend... :blush I had the privilege to see the MK2 on the trailer on the way to the UK, it's a real promising project, all the hard to find bits are on , it'll be a nice MK2 once completed! Th...

Hi Olav
welcome to the club!
As soon as you have your project bike, don't forget to take some pictures of it.
A Z1B is a very good choice.

Re: Z1 caliper assembly

Hi RBY there might be some air left in the brake line splitter. Remove the two bolts securing it to the lower triple clamp and gently tap on it so that the trapped air can move up to the master cylinder. When applying the brake you'll see little air bubbles come out of the little hole in it. If that...

Re: Hello from sleepy Suffolk

Hi Futter JC that's a monster! The rear section of the frame has been chopped off and replaced by something else! Can you get it MOT'ed ? If not, don't buy it. But if you like it, go for it. It's not my piece of cake and I would never ride such a Mad Max bike . :ghostface Does it handle well...

Re: Hello from sleepy Suffolk

Hi Futter Welcome to the club! If it's an ST just go for it! Give it fuel in the tank, oil in the engine and air in the tires and ride it. Beware, it's heavy and powerful ! Show us some pictures, we all like them . I'm an ST fan too and have five of them in my collection, I know them inside and out ...

Re: barrel wont fit

Hi Dave a Z1000 head will mount without any problem on the Z900 barrels. The diameter of the combustion chamber is the same. You can use the gasket of the Z900 without any problems as long as the pistons are not to much oversized. If those are, use a gasket of the Z1000. Good luck with it. GrtZ Phil...
