Re: Restoration of a 1942 Willys jeep GPW Ford
Hello gentlemen It's alive !!! The past weeks I've been doing a lot of detailwork on the jeep. The paint of the jerrycan was stripped and a hole was discovered in the bottom... I left it open for a few days and took the chance of welding it and it worked out, the hole is shut. The inside of the jerr...

Re: Z1000st coil connections + -
Hi Mrg the black wire goes to the coil that's connected to the spark plugs of cylinders 1and 4 (mounted on the left hand side of the frame normally), the green wire goes to the right coil (2-3), the pink wires connect to the double connector of the pink wire that comes from the resistor situated beh...

Re: Front brake problem
Hi Pete I'm glad you solved your brake problem. The diameter of the small LHS hole is 0.35 mm. I use a small drilbit from my modeling tools. If you want to be sure that your brakes don't tighten up, you have to use the correct brake lever! Most of the pattern new ones have the correct part number bu...

Re: Restoration of a 1942 Willys jeep GPW Ford
Hi Mark I did most of the work alone and only needed a few times help of my wife or my friend when the parts were too heavy or too big to handle them alone. It's important to have the correct tools and information to achieve a job. And most important: I have lots of time... More news coming soon! Gr...

Re: Restoration of a 1942 Willys jeep GPW Ford
Gentlemen the next episode of the restoration: The bunch of parts from the beginning is starting to look like a jeep. After the placement of the "tub" on the frame I was able to mount a lot of parts on it. At the rear: the jerrycan holder with straps, the spare wheel holder and the spare w...

Re: Restoration of a 1942 Willys jeep GPW Ford
Hi, here I am again After a lot of bodywork, i decided it was time to work a bit on the frame. A lot of parts could be placed on there before the tub is installed. It's easier to put some parts on the frame when it's still good accessible. The towing hook and the bumperettes were mounted on the rear...

Re: Restoration of a 1942 Willys jeep GPW Ford
Hello men it's time for an update: The underside of the body tub received two coats of red oxide primer and three coats of olive drab paint. The inside of the tub was next...now that involved again a lot of grinding with a lot of dust as a result. Th floor showed a lot of rust pitting which was fill...

Re: Z1000 A2 - seat stopper thingie
Hi men
the Z1000A1 didn't have the seat retainer, it had the same seat hinges as the Z900A4.
The Z1000A2 did have the seat retainer and had different seat hinges.
The picture above says it all, good luck with the installation!
