Yeah but there is no bracket on the frame? does yours have a bracket to attach to the frame tube? As you say there is a hole in the yoke for one end but no attachment on my frame for the other end?

Steering Damper

Hi as seen elsewhere I have at last got my Z1B 1975 on the road. Now its been a long time and my memory is akin to a goldfish. There is no bracket for the steering damper were they all fitted with one? It might have broken a long time ago and I took it off but don't remember doing that? Anyway there...

If Ralph posted a photo of a crank I bought with the con rods out of line then possibly so? Unbelievable but that's what I was sold by quite a large dealer in second hand Z spares. And welded at that?

Its the Z1 owners club!! My 1975 Z1 B owned since January 1976. Sorry about that didn't think which isn't unusual.

At last after nearly 28 years, yes that's right!! its running and I have been up the Beacons for a run. couldn't sort out the engine myself but a massive thanks to Ralph Ferrand who sorted it after many curved balls were thrown. Valve timing 28pins compression good bad memory not sure if high lift cams had different number of pins been 40 years mind and no literature away at. Moment i will try those numbers when I get home. Many thanks to all replies

Hi just joined from Aberdare South Wales had my Z since 1976. Hasn't been started since 1990. Have recently fitted high compression 10.25 to 1 pistons 1045ccAction Fours which iv'e had since1990. Has high lift cams fitted in 1977. Have fitted new rings and bores honed, new coils, new Boyer Bransden ...
