Re: Wanted Z1000 complete bike £4k give or take. North

Just got my May edition of Classic Bike today and see there is an advert for a 1980 Z1000 - apart from a yellow frame (personal choice of course...) it looks good in the small picture. He's asking £1,500 ono - seems cheap. Telephone number is 0208 - 3910357 (Surrey) in case you are interested. Regar...

Re: RACK FOR Z1000J WANTED

Hmmm. That’s very interesting and thanks for the info. I probably wasn’t thinking of putting too much weight on there. Just a small top box with a back pad occasionally for when my wife wants to go out on the bike with me as nowadays she feels more secure like that. But I’m certainly going to be war...

Re: RACK FOR Z1000J WANTED

Thanks, that's useful information.

Looks like the grab rail is not fitted in the picture. Is that because it wont fit with the Rickman or did you choose not to fit it?

Regards,

Nigel

Re: RACK FOR Z1000J WANTED

Just a last question to anyone who might know;

Did Kawasaki make a specific rack for the J?

Before I take up Al’s kind offer, if there is such a thing as an OE Kawasaki rack - does anyone have one they would be willing to part with?

Regards,

Nigel

Re: Rickman crz1 900.

Fantastic looking bike - I really like Rickmans.

Here is a (scanned in) picture of me on my Rickman (Hodna 750 SOHC) at the 1983 TT. Yet another bike I should never have sold...

Re: Hello! New to Z1000 ownership

Thanks Keith.

Hi Andy! Yes, small world indeed.

Good luck with the Dunstall sale - its coming up to spring so good time to be selling. You obviously really regret selling the Zed...Yep, I'll look out for you - at least you will know what bike I'll be on.

Nigel

Re: Hello! New to Z1000 ownership

Thanks all for the very nice welcome. And, for the avoidance of any doubt, I will definitely be keeping it original and standard. I really like the way it looks, which is very 80's, and I think It would be a great shame to loose its originality now after nearly 36 years. So, assuming it goes as well...

Re: Hello! New to Z1000 ownership

Thanks both.

Paul - I'm just near to Lichfield.

The bike is probably better than it looks in the pictures. Very low mileage and completely original...apart from service items like plugs and filters etc. Still has all its original stickers on the tank, forks and footrest hangers etc.

Hello! New to Z1000 ownership

Hello All, I've very recently bought a Z1000J2 and just joined this Z1OC/Forum, and this is my first post. Its my first ever Z1000...In fact over the years I've not had that many Kawasakis. Way way back I had a KH250B1 and then a little later a Z650. But then I was seduced by the Italians...and so w...
