Chain and Sprockets for Z1 (73)
Has anyone changed their sprockets from 15/35 to 15/33 and what was the result like. Did you stick with standard chain with 92 links and how much did that leave for stretch adjustment?

Re: Carburation?.....
Hi, I had a similar issue on my Z1 (72). I eventually solved by: 1) changing the ignition system to Dyna S just to eliminate the variability of points 2) making sure my float heights were spot on 3) ensuring good plugs 4) checking the jetting sizes and setting to standard There are lots of variables...

Re: Thoughts on new chain and sprockets for '73 Z1
Charlie, i have done some research on the spec of the RX 530UWV; it appears that it is only designed for unto 750 CC. If you look at the plate sizes they are significantly down on a normal 530 and of-cource 630. You may want to look at this link http://transmisiongp.com/Pictures/Marcas/20180129_RK_C...

Re: Thoughts on new chain and sprockets for '73 Z1
Following on from my original post, I have now removed the chain and sprockets. The current setup is a 630 DID with 'O' seals and it has a master link. The front sprocket is a 15 and has a boss. The rear sprocket is a 35. Front sprocket looks like it has some wear but I am no expert; I will consult ...

Re: Thoughts on new chain and sprockets for '73 Z1
Thanks Philippe,
I note that the 530 is much lighter but I assume is fully capable of taking the load given its used on modern machines with more HP?

Thoughts on new chain and sprockets for '73 Z1
I am thinking of renewing my chain and sprockets on my Z1 as I don't know when they were last changed and the chain seems to be quite loose all of a sudden which makes me think something isn't quite right. I will adjust to the correct tension and then do the chain length check between rivets as per ...

Re: Air Screw setting on Z1
Still running good. Checked out battery volts = good and coils good in terms of primary (4.7) and secondary (15K) ohms. However, the voltage at the coils are only 10.7 V. Have read the article about putting in a relay to coils to get back to 12 V. Any thoughts on this mod for a dana -S system? Oldspot

Re: Air Screw setting on Z1
Did what you suggested with new fuel and denso plugs. Managed to get it going and it ran very well. When I looked at old plugs it appeared that there was some arcing from insulation even after cleaning. I will try tomorrow from cold again and see if it starts normally. I still think sparks are a lit...

Air Screw setting on Z1
Hi, my name is Oldspot. I am a new member and this is my first post. I have an early Z1 which I have recently brought back from Australia. Although I have been riding the bike reasonably for the last 2 years, it has never been great until fully warmed up; plugs can get black at idle. I have just res...
