Thanks for the replys, the z1b my mate has just bought has the part number on it, he googled the number and it did indeed come back as the part number, I'd never seen it before. I had a new frame on a 73 Z1 that had been in an accident, but there was no numbers on it.

Frame part number

Does anyone else have the frame part number stamped on the headstock on the opposite side to the frame number.
I've never seen this before.

Sometimes when they get dropped, the bit where they bolt onto the frame gets pushed in a bit. I've had this on a couple of bikes, I've pulled it back out with a ratchet strap.

The reason yours says 74 but is a 75 , is Swansea usually puts them on the earlier year when they are an important.

Thanks guys, the bike I bought was a b1 converted to carbs so the 1003 makes sense. The other 3 , I wonder where they came from and why.
