Re: Z1000A1 rear master cylinder leaks but with new seals
Ah yes thanks I see ZP do show one but it just says Z1000/1100 and doesn't specify models. It looks slightly different to the original - but it does look the same as the Wemoto one. But ZP's is cheaper! I'll call them on Monday and order it if it's the right one.

Z1000A1 rear master cylinder leaks but with new seals
Hi Zedheads. Blimey getting this project over the line is doing my head in. It's just one problem after another. I put a new primary cup (from Zed Power) in and I thought that I'd put all new seals in but due to my advancing years I misremembered I think. Anyway, it's leaking but Zed Power don't lis...

Re: How to change to historic vehicle status
Get a date of manufacture letter from Vjmc, not sure if Jerry does them. Ross at kawasaki UK can do one also but charges. That's all you need to give the dvla as proof of historic qualification. I've had v5's changed to historic on uninsured or mot'd bikes. Ah good, I thought that might be an optio...

Re: How to change to historic vehicle status
Thanks all. However I may have a problem - the bike is an A1 (1977) but was imported from Italy in 1996, so first registered here in 96 - which is what it says on the V5. Also does it have to be insured to change the taxation class, or is that only required when you want to 'tax' it, albeit at zero ...

How to change to historic vehicle status
Hey guys
After many (too many) moons my project Z1000A1 is nearing completion after a total rebuild, and the motor started second push of the button. I have the V5 in my name, but how to I change it to historic vehicle status ready for when I get it on the road?
Cheers in advance

Re: Spare bits for LH switchgear needed - 70s Zeds
Thanks for all the info guys. I had a go at it with Plastex and it worked ok (well I've reassembled it and it hasn't fallen apart yet).

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! Will follow these up. I do also have a Plastex kit that I might be able to do a decent repair with.

Spare bits for LH switchgear needed - 70s Zeds
Hi all I'm refurbishing my switchgear (Z1000-A1) and the plastic bit where the dipswitch attaches is broken. See photo... I might be able to fix it but it's very small, so... Anyway, I figured these were the same on most seventies Kwacks, but an eBay search has been fruitless. Anybody out there got ...

Re: Brembo discs
I think a lot of people used Lockheed discs for racing back in the good old days. I had them on my Harris Z1000 too. I suppose the problem now will be that whatever make you go for they will look 'modern'

Re: Z1000-A1 inner plastic rear mudguard
Might work out cheaper to get your original repaired - I used these guys afew years ago to repair a cracked zx9r fairing and it came back looking like new. https://www.plastics-surgery.com/ I dare say there are others dotted around the country just as good In the meantime I found my old inner mudgu...

Thanks Keith - I know Z Power have these too; the fittings look the same as mine but mine doesn't have those 'dent like' shapes in it. Not sure if Z1 one like this would fit?
Cheers

Z1000-A1 inner plastic rear mudguard
Hi Zed heads Looking for the plastic front section of the rear mudguard assembly. My old one is split in the middle and all chewed up around the bolt holes. I can bodge it for the time being but anyone got a spare? Zed Power no longer do them (although they have the Z1 ones which are a bit of a diff...
