Re: No.4 Inlet valve bucket oil starvation??????

I think I’ve bored everyone enough with this on this site and the Butchered Classics forum, had some really good responses but I think I will try Kev Edwards idea. Was opposed to trying that at first as I felt it was a bit like putting a bigger fuse in (not the best analogy) as I don’t think the pro...

Re: No.4 Inlet valve bucket oil starvation??????

After reading everyone’s comments on this forum plus the ones I received on the Butchered Classics Facebook site regarding oil starvation to No. 4 inlet cam lube, I removed the head, barrels, sump and oil pump. Everything was clean,ie. no sign of any aquablast media like the first strip. I then carr...

Re: No.4 Inlet valve bucket oil starvation??????

Thank you for both comments particularly the second one as I thought the same but have measured the new cam shafts and were correct measurements, plus I fitted the cams without valves so I could check they spin/no tight spots. Last night I removed the inlet camshaft and using a syringe I squirted oi...

Run the motor in the garage about four times, approximately 20 minutes in total. One of the cam end caps ...

Re: Engine paint Z1

Hello,
just painted my crank cases with PJ1, had good reviews? Cases were aqua-blasted, washed with soapy water, dried and warmed plus the tin. Applied approx 6-7 coats at 10 minute gaps and kept warm for 4-5 hours afterwards. Pleased with the finish but time will tell?
Cheers.

Re: New member

Hello, no exciting to send photos to send. Engine totally stripped, eg. head having new guides fitted, just waiting for new pistons, crank away at SEP Keg worth and very slowly bracing frame up. Slow due to making all gusset section profiles and tubing. Will post photos when something substantial/in...

Just joined, run a ZRX 1100 and just started a total rebuild on a 76 Z900, ie, engine rebuild and currently bracing modifying frame for gsxr 750 running gear. Cheers.
