Re: Twisted but where?
Did some more today. Couldn't improve it any further with a jack alone because no matter how many straps were attacked it was tilting the bike and lifting the rhs of the ctr stand.. The yokes are buggered and good ones should be arriving this week. So a slight melange of plans. Stress the headstock ...

Re: ST yokes (Found)
Got a set from France. Apparently the bike is in very good condition if anyone needs some ST bits. The seller seems highly rated on ebay

Chaps, as above, not fussed about the appearance as long as they are straight. Can fudge a UK smuggler address if required.

Re: Twisted but where?
Partial success. I decided against the sledgehammer method because it wasn't controlled enough and I had no idea what forces would be put on other parts of the frame so used this method 1710678840534.jpg I had to adjust the positioning of some ratchet straps as the car jack was trying to push the bi...

Re: Twisted but where?
Thanks for your advice and knowledge Al. I was planning to use a piece of oak, shaped as much as possible to share the impact, between the lower part of the headstock and the wall coupled with a ratchet strap to hold the oak in place and pull the frame towards the wall then 2 further ratchet straps ...

Re: Twisted but where?
Bike has had the top yoke removed, forks dropped so both wheels are on the ground. Mate knocked this up on his lathe 1710084343130.jpg 1710084343146.jpg It's going to be bolted on here 1710096291100.jpg Then it'll be strapped the the walls, I'll be lifted on a pallet with a big sledge hammer...... Re: Ignition switch for Z1 with key #752
The ignition switch reconfigure is buried in one of his restos I think. But yeah, send him a PM. It would be very useful to find it and ask an admin to sticky it somewhere.

They can be changed. Here's a link to Philippe's explanation. There is another one somewhere regarding the other locks but I can't find it at the moment.

Re: Rear Wheel Bearing Help
I haven't seen this exact issue but you could carefully grind the inner race until it's nearly through then give a smack to crack the remaining bit. Alternatively, a very sharp (sharpened) old screwdriver or chisel between the 2 working around until a bearing puller can finish the job. I had a simil...

WD40, unless it's their specific penetrating oil, isn't a penetrating oil, i's a water dispersant, hence the WD, you may as well use diesel, it's a light oil. Soak in a real penetrating oil or make your own using 50% AFT and 50% Acetone.
