Make sure the master cylinder is not a miss match, the twin disc and single disc are different sizes.... or check the piston on the caliper is free or the master cylinder needs a kit... Or maybe a rubber brake pipe is expanding. Lots of thing to check, but even a single disc should pull up pretty go...

I had exactly the same issue although with a very old and hard clear coat, you have to use a aircraft paint stripper it's just called "aircraft stripper" it is designed for removing paint from aluminum without damaging it at all. It is used in the aero industry. I used it on my z1 engine a...

Hello I have recently purchased a KZ900 A4 and was looking at the frame and engine number Z1F-115875 & Z1E-135525, I see that the numbers are 19,650 apart. Has this had a replacement engine or is that common on KZ900's? My Z1-900 is only about 60 apart in the numbers... The bike has done 25k and...

Here are the photos out of the manual for a 74 Z1A, looks like they both go straight out the back of the tap and the fuel line goes in between the first 2 carbs and the last 2.
I have a 75 Z1B and this is how they are on it..

The info is stamped on the outer part of the rim any ideaa.

29mm Mikuni smoothbore carbs

29mm smoothbore with spare jets and pod filters and adapters also comes with side cover to fit Z1-900.
Carbs are in excellent condition only removed to return bike to original.

Just an update.. 115 mains 17.5 pilots carb balance and a tappet ajust. The bike now idles without faultering at 1200rpm pulls from 2k and pulls my arms off at 6k and above, well pleased... The bike runs beautifully in fact kept up with my mates Buell XB12S in acceleration to about 100mph from 30mph...

That's what I am going to do, I am trying to hunt down a good set of original carbs. But in the meantime am trying to make this work... It had pod filters and an exhaust before and it now runs better without all that crap on it & looks better... It was obviously never set right in the first pla...
