Re: ZRX1100 swingarm into 1981 Z1000J frame
The forks are rwu. Not sure what year that makes them. These are C1/C2 RWUs on my Z1000 as mentioned in the other post, I got yokes made with a bit of a step and mounts for original clocks and bars. The 1000R would be more dropped as the originals are longer than the early Z forks nwv08.jpg That’s ...

Thanks Weaver, I will make sure I check for that when the time comes.

Re: ZRX1100 swingarm into 1981 Z1000J frame
Thanks Kwacker, I’m not confident with which route to take yet, ideally need to find something simple enough for me to pull off first time but with a pleasing look to it that won’t make me want to change it as soon as I can! Hopefully I will get more confidence the more I do. Is it ok if I message f...

Re: ZRX1100 swingarm into 1981 Z1000J frame
Thanks Zed,
That’s great news. Really appreciate you helping me out.
That’s a box ticked, I can order what I need now.
Don’t suppose you’ve ever grafted a set of ZX9R forks to a J?
Cos that’s my next puzzle.

ZRX1100 swingarm into 1981 Z1000J frame
Hi guys, Firstly, apologies if the heading looks familiar, there is another (2007) thread that looks the same but i need a more specific answer if anyone can help. The J is stripped now and I have a bare frame, first thing was to test just how ‘fits straight in’ the ZRX arm actually is. And the answ...

Apologies for the picture quality. Hello from a new ( but old ) member
Hello all, Just become a paid up member and wanted the say hi. Sometime ago I acquired a 1981 Z1000J that didn’t run but came as a project. I had one when I was 19 and got all sentimental (54 now, did someone say midlife crisis) So I have much to do and lots to learn, I have some parts that I’ve rea...
