Re: Z900A4 low speed issues
I had a very similar problem with my Z1000, I followed all the carb advice to no avail too.
In the end, I found the ignition advance springs were too stiff. I replaced them and it cured it for me.

Z1000 Front engine mount bolt seized.
Hi All The head of the front engine mount bolt is all chewed up, so I bought a shiny new one. Then I found out why it was chewed up - the bold it seized solid, presumably in the ali cases. I have left it soaking in Plus Gas, but is there any likelihood that heat/penetrating fluid/beating to death wi...

Z1000A2 rough between 2000 and 3000 - found a fix
Hi Everyone I just thought I would share my experience of fault finding a really annoying rough patch between 2 and 3k for the benefit of others who might suffer the same. The bike idled perfectly and pulled well after 3000 and the hesitation I was experiencing certainly felt like it was carb relate...

Re: Generator output z1000
Hi I know this is an old post, but I had the exact same issue with my bike, so thought I would share my experiences. http://z1ownersclub.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=48289 Basically my headlight seems to be causing the low voltage readings at the battery. It's a US import and the headlight i...

Re: Z1000 poor charging
The very first job is to disconnect the alternatr multi-pin plug, start the engine and measure the AC output between each 3 sets of 2 yellow wires. There's no point in starting at the battery etc, you need at least 50V AC at 4k RPM and over. Only when you have this should you start looking at bad e...

Re: Z1000 poor charging
Hi all I have been having another play as none of the usual tests show any problems. It's a US import, so the headlight is on all of the time. I removed the fuse that protects the headlight circuit and voila, full charge was resumed at the battery. I was surprised at the difference, does that sound ...

Z1000 poor charging
Hi All This is my first post having recently bought a rather lovely Z1000A2 of 1978 vintage. I checked the charge to the battery as part of my familiarisation process rather than actually having an issue and found it's not charging as well as it should. I have 12.3v across the battery with the engin...
