Re: Z1000 J Camchain Tensioner Question ?
The chain cant jump the sprocket on the crank because there is a bolt there to stop it. However, it can jacknife and jam. Possible but very unlikely. If you are taking the cam cover off to check and adjust 'shim on top' then all you need to do is remove the locking cross slide. Leave the spring load...

Re: Offset sprocket
CMSNL has the rear sprocket at 41 teeth but i dont see the number of links in a standard 630 chain. No matter, to convert a 41 tooth sprocket from 630 to 530: divide 41 by 5 and then multiply by 6. That gives you 49.2 teeth for the replacement rear sprocket at the 530 chain size. The front sprocket ...
Re: Z1r forks
That should be the nylon piston ring that sits in the groove at the top of the damper rod.

Re: Offset sprocket
Dug out the receipt for the ones i bought from M&P but un-helpfully they dont have the part number. The sprocket number is 528.17 or JTF528.17 A google searh of this number will find you any number of suppliers for about £20. example https://chainsandsprockets.co.uk/products/jtf-528-front-drive-...

Re: Offset sprocket
Do you mean 15Tooth?? If you are changing over to 530 then a 15T will be tiny, ok if your building one of those stunt bikes that lives on the back wheel though!!

Re: Hyvo cam chain observation
Without being pedantic; Hyvo '''sprockets''' are closer to the definition of cogs than that of sprockets. The chains' contact area is spread across the face of the tooth and to qualify for the lofty title of 'Silent Chain', no parts contact that are not needed to make contact. This is partly achieve...

Re: RS34s on gpz/ z1000j / ELR -- fuel tap ?
RS 36's on a standard tank and tap on a J1 and you get about three mm's and thats with the back of the tank lifted by about 1/4 of an inch. Yes to 'push pull throttle and cables' and there are two different mounting boots for different applications. One is more suited to RS carbs stubs than the othe...

Re: Keihn 1200 SI16 carbs - which z or bike?
I have only seen Mikuni CV carbs, BS34mm spec'd for the J series 1000 and 1100's.
If those are 32mm internal they could be a close match for Z750.

It looks like the late version has an extra part, a rod or perhaps guide pin as they call it. Not present on the early version.

Re: BS34 Carbs ?
I can only imagine there is one type for KZ1000 for 1981 there being only two bikes that fit that description; J models and customs. That said, there are slight differences across the 'series' like different top caps, polished or otherwise float bowls and of course different jetting and anti tamper ...

Re: RS34 Flatsides leaking
I was dogged by this for quite a spell. It turns out that having bought several eyewateringly expensive float needle and seat combos, it was just the 'O' rings that surround the seat part. A couple of £ each from Motocarb and all good again. Mine were like cork when i took them off!! On the one occa...

Re: RS34 Flatslides carbs parts help
I have bought genuine Mikuni parts from Motocarb in recent times for my flatslides but not these specific parts. Drop him an e-mail with all the details and he may be able to help.
