Re: Eleanor - Damaged car.

I’ve got to get there. Trains are subject to delays and cancellations and to go in the van would be a poor show. Actually it’s a stones throw from Stoneleigh so roads are major between here and there.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Re: Eleanor - Damaged car.

Back from the body shop yesterday I spent the morning final footing ancillary parts. I’ll have to order some more of the plastic clips and other parts as well as pop back for pinstriping to be added. I need the car for a trip to Warwick so rushed the body shop. Mrs TLC took this photo of my intrepid...

Re: Eleanor - Damaged car.

Trouble with that Neil is that all the parts I need are the popular and broken bits. Wings for example are a nightmare. £150 for something rusty is not good. Try finding a clean one though.

Anyhow, some progress. I have the bumper back from the body shop to build up.

Re: RACK FOR Z1000J WANTED

The thing with the J is that support for any rail or rack has to go through the lock bolts. Therefore to fit one you have to remove the other. The instructions actually state it is necessary to chop the helmet/seat lock to make it fit. I managed to do so without doing this by using another lock as I...

Re: RACK FOR Z1000J WANTED

I spent a long time trying to find a dedicated rack.
The only one I ever found was the Rickman which is not for sale.

Re: Electrical help needed please !

I would check voltage to the headlight switch multi connector then output from the switch at the multi connector under the tank. I would suspect there is some resistance in that switch as has been said. All this with no bulb connected. If there is a voltage drop at either of these points from batter...

Re: Eleanor - Damaged car.

Car has gone to the body shop. Sadly the recommended repairer declined so I plumped for the nearest, most professional looking independent repairer. I borrowed a trailer to get it down there on Saturday morning. They will start it tomorrow. I’ve ordered 2 sets of headlights, a small loom which was b...

Re: Eleanor - Damaged car.

Some progress, though some disappointments. Here are the bumper parts all laid out. One of the mounts is missing as I’ve had to order another from a breaker. 8D4FA834-6A0F-4D2B-9A52-1ACFA33BF8C8.jpeg There are some repairs required such as the under tray, which has some splits, the mounts, with one ...

Re: Eleanor - Damaged car.

Fred. It's an X308. The last of the gangster cars. Latest update - finding parts. The bumper is one complicated item. What you see on modern cars it seems is merely a flashy cover for the strengthening beam. I had damaged both mounts, 1 replaced so far, and the beam. I got a good enough one that I c...

Re: Eleanor - Damaged car.

Not a good day to be stripping parts from a donor car. The snow was wet and quite heavy this lunchtime.
Thanks to paul Mceleney who helped I got much of what’s needed. What a trooper.

No pic as it was disgusting weather.

Re: Throttle response

Run with 130 for now although I too feel they are a little big.
I can't stress enough how much a fueling run on a dyno will help.

With V&H filters I'm running 122.5's

Re: Throttle response

Your mains will be a little big. Try 125, needle on middle clip and pilot 1/4-1/2 turn.
I suspect either the pilot is too far out, something has come adrift or it’s not a carb problem.
