Re: New Member

Hello Mark.
If that was you from the North East area together with your wife, it was me.
Baz your area rep, whom you spoke with also, is extremely knowledgable and I’m sure will assist.

Good luck with your search, Chris.

Re: J - Refresh

Nice to hear from you Al.
There is no doubt that you are far ahead of me in understanding the J. After all, I was only ever trying to keep things stock.
The hours I've spent reading your threads :vcool

Re: J - Refresh

Here is the finished bike. I am now unlikely to use it so will be exploring options to sell.
I tentatively offered the bike to visitors at £12k and did discuss including it in the Silverstone Auctions sale next spring.

Not that I know of. I was going to suggest asking Peter Krauss but you have other contacts in Germany.

Re: Greasing Swing Arm

That’s the ball ache with grease nipples. It must come out of both sides.
You may have lots come out one side but not the other, then it gets messy.

Re: Gpz1100B1 identification

Hi Scott.
They should all have a stamped in the headstock number. Around that time KHI started riveting plates in as well. My J has in on the left down tube just below the headstock.

Re: J - Refresh

Now I need to turn to the forks. A thread by Al some years ago has given me more pause for thought than almost anything ever posted here. I purchased some new bushes a couple of years ago but have postponed doing anything until I am at the stage where I can safely strip them out. I have decided that...

There is nothing special about the O ring.
They do wear and give odd measurements when old.

Just go to your local bearing supplier and they should be able to help.

Re: She ticks over a little lumpy like!

After years of messing about with plug chops I now go straight to the man with the dyno. Takes away any doubt.

Also lower than 1000rpm seems low for tick over. I think my Thou’ was good at 1100.

Re: Clock Bracket (Update for members)

I'm bumping this from the archives as a couple of members have requested foam. I can't believe I originally did this 12 years ago  I knew I had some left. So, anyone that wants some is welcome to it, free, gratis, at no cost. Be aware though once it's gone it's gone. I remembered that it's ca...
