Re: Z1b auction
Looks like a nice bike and an excellent starting point. Some nice patina but the paint job and exhausts look a bit fresh though. Like all auction vehicles it still might ( probably ) require additional mechanical and cost input. Also just remember the 7.5 % + VAT commission on their sales when biddi...

Re: recommendation for mag wheel repair.
This looks to be a cast alloy wheel so regardless of what it is you've got if your desperate to have it be prepared to spend if you want it fixed so its safe. Cleaned properly, heated ( whole wheel ) reshaped with appropriate tooling - not a vice and mallet , prepped and welded , heated again for st...

Re: recommendation for mag wheel repair.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wheel looks like a Mick Grant 7 Star item. Had those on my manic H1F 500 in 1979-82 originally made to suit a Z650.
Re: 1976 Z900
Nice find and looks like its got lots of potential but may run a bit weak initially

Re: Paint Stripper?.
Most effective stripper ever, Dasic D23 as used on a/c paint refurbishment. Very fast acting and extremely effective at burning human skin - a good indication of how good a stripper is

Re: ELR R2 Swing arm pivot
Probably easier to pick up a complete swinging arm for a B1/2, there's a few about.

20 year wait, that's - just a blink. I waited 47 years for my desired S2 to surface

Re: Rubber Thingy
Glad to help. As a note I replaced both upper and lower binnacle surrounds on my B2 supplied direct from Kawasaki a couple of years ago due to cable chafing and a marked face. Not cheap though.

Re: Z900 a4 Air Box complete
Some spare parts maybe rare now but I think the market has depressed a bit, as with second hand bikes. Its a bit much to ask 20% the price of a complete bike for a supposedly hard to find bit. Seen some standard-ish later Z's have been selling for sub 2.5K recently.

Re: Rebuild Queries and a couple of picks
This is just precautionary note. I see the picture of the starter solenoid/earth wire shows a very old and crusty side panel grommet in shot. Having recently had an issue with a self detaching side panel whilst on the move I would recommend replacing these if they are all worn with new (genuine) ite...
Re: z1
Far too many butchered older Z's about being advertised as cafe racer/special/blobbers etc. We're loosing some good stuff and being offered some dross in exchange.

Re: Rebuild Queries and a couple of picks
Regarding the wiring issues, all the Kawasaki's I've had have the loom running on the left. Get the head light and tail light in position and fit the loom with the front mess in the bowl and tail light connected. Next slave install anything electrical and connect obvious blocks and odd wires as they...

Re: Footrests Wanted
Hi. Had a torn one on my B2 when acquired. Lots advertised by breakers in the UK are similar. I ended up getting an as new item from Germany at reasonable cost via Ebay, there's always some on there. There seems to be a surplus of older Z1000/1100 from there.
