GPz1100B2 Rear Seat Fixings.

Hi.
Looking for the rear seat attachments to suit a B2. I'm after the locking bar and its R/H and L/H mounts. Probably the same as Z1000J/ELR models. I've found some in Europe but getting them might not be straight forward so thought I'd ask here first.
Cheers Alan.

Re: 2 Stroke ! RD 250

Excellent resto. You cant beat 70's Yamaha colours. My mates had these and were amazed by the smoothness of my KH250 in comparison although it was slower.

Re: Z1000R2 side stand stopper

Hi.
Both pics came from from the same parts catalog , Pt No.99910-1184-02, very hard to find. You can never better original manuals. Had myself issues when originally putting this together due to a bodge. See my original post at GPz1100B2 Side stand/Cut out switch mounting.

Re: Z1000R2 side stand stopper

Hi.
Maybe not relevant on an R but my parts catalog shows also shows the later ( simple reliable set up ) plunger type stand switch. My B2 has unused wires for it behind the sprocket cover. Cant see how it was originally mounted though without frame adaption.

Re: Z1000R2 side stand stopper

Hi.
The page from the parts manual is from a European part catalog also covering UK versions. My B2 is an imported German model fitted with the red side stand overide switch. Came with a MPH speedo ?? which documentation shows was original.

Re: Z1000R2 side stand stopper

Hi.
My B2 has the same set up with the overide switch and stopper. In addition there's a bolt locking washer under the stand bolt head. This is an original item ( 92022A/C ) shown incorrectly in the parts manual as being behind the stand.

Re: Oil leak

Just another thing to watch for when running after assembly. I had what looked like a leak from the back of the head at the tunnel O ring when first using after the rebuild. It turned out to be a leak from a not tight enough cam cover allowing oil to dibble down. Was a bit too cautious with the bolt...

Re: BS 34's

I don't think any type of adhesive will remain stable in that environment. I think that drilling it and inserting an interference pin to secure the post might work but accuracy would be key to success.

Re: gpZ1100B2 rear shocks

Something to take into account between the shockss, although physically the same the damping rates and adjustment range were changed between the B1 and B2 models. Preload adjustment and damping rates were improved and give a firmer ( sportier ) ride.

Re: Oil leak

Hi. Yep, looks like a leak from the cam chain tunnel O ring. Was it a pattern one? Noticed that pattern ones don't sit perfectly in the groove compared to originals when rebuilding my motor. It been recommended to apply some silicone gasket around the tunnel aperture when assembling to aid sealing a...

Re: GPz cam bolt thread stripped

Hi. I have the later 83 Kawasaki Service manual showing 12 f.lbs for the caps. Torqued my B2 caps without issue. Trick is to start lower, maybe at 6 and go up in 2 lb increments applying the load slowly. Double click at any given torque to allow for settling. Decent torque wench is mega important wi...
