Re: Hyvo cam chain observation
Without being pedantic; Hyvo '''sprockets''' are closer to the definition of cogs than that of sprockets. The chains' contact area is spread across the face of the tooth and to qualify for the lofty title of 'Silent Chain', no parts contact that are not needed to make contact. This is partly achiev...

Re: Hyvo cam chain observation
Do the gaps disappear if you apply pressure on the chain between the sprockets like the slipper plate does? Your not comparing with the chain in the running position. Hi Warren, Thanks for your reply No there is no change when I apply pressure to the chain. Oddly when viewed from any other angle th...

Hyvo cam chain observation
Hello all I am checking the valve shim gaps on my Zephyr 750 and noticed the the Hyvo cam chain is sitting in a raised position on the sprockets. You can see daylight in the wells of the teeth in the first photo. I did a search of the forum and also found a photo by z1000puddin Which has the same ga...

Starter clutch upgrade
Hi, this starter clutch upgrade from Centurion Motorcycles on Facebook looks interesting and may help somebody. I've been a member for a while now, but don't recall there being any particular issues with the Z900/1000 starter clutches popping up on the forum? https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BQZ5N5...

Re: Z1000a1 Alternator Rotor
Take a look at this Its worked for me a couple of times and the bikes are still running fine Thanks Keith, this is great information. I was actually thinking of something along these lines, and this gives proper detail on how to go about it. I have always wanted a pillar drill so now is my excuse t...

Z1000a1 Alternator Rotor
Hello all, I've just noticed that the outer body of the rotor is slightly loose on the inner that it is attached to. In frustration I've put some centre punch dings in it to firm it up. Having slept on it is guess this isn't going to hold it in place for very long? I see ZPOWER sell solid new ones, ...

As long as everything functions ok you don't need a jetting change from stock just for the pipe.
That's good news.
Thanks Rob!

Re: Z1000 A1 Carb Jetting
Apologies for jumping in, but my A1 also came with a 4 into 1 (marshall) but with a standard air box.
Is there anything I need to know carb wise?
Thanks
Paul

Thanks z1bman. That is one busy website
I can only see domed hex heads in imperial, but I'll keep a look out in case they add metric sizes.

Re: Z1000 A1 Head Gasket
Thanks Kev and Gray. Yes, from my searching Vesrah seem to be the best quality alternative when there's no OEM. I think Buzzard mentioned he only uses OEM but he must have been talking about the 900, as head gaskets are available for them. I was wondering that now I have an oversize bore, a skimmed ...

Z1000 A1 Head Gasket
Hello all! My barrels are with IMD Pistons for a 0 5mm oversize rebore. The head is back from Buzzard after a complete overhaul which Included a head skim. With the lack of availability of a OEM head gasket (the two part one) I am going to go with a Vesrah two part head gasket. Is there anything I s...
