Re: Head Gaskets

Vesrah has always been my go to choice when genuine not avail or expensive. I was told years ago they make the oem gaskets for all the manufacturers. I never have problems with them, that said of late the valve stem seals included in the kits are rubbish and I suspect they buy these in. Difficult to...

Re: Just back from the lakes

Thanks for those replys chaps, I did have some spray on me and it made a little difference but not great, sprayed coils, but tank hides them. I guess I need to be more methodical in tracking this down, I will try the suggestions after taking the tank off and running remote fuel supply then hit it wi...

Re: Just back from the lakes

Only just seen reply, thanks, interesting, thought they were waterproof, they do have rubber boots on them, will try some silicone grease, otherwise not sure how I can change them as there dosn't seem much else available, my ht leads are imbedded in the coils.

Just back from the lakes

Did a mini tour over 5 days from south coast up to the lake district with a mate on his A4 stopping in Wrexham overnight both ways. Gotta say riding up the east side of Wales and the lake roads were fantastic. Had one day decent dry weather, off and on the rest of the days. Very weird riding up to W...

Pardon my ignorance but why do the swing arm caps have an elliptical cut out in them? Is it to let grease escape? And when installed should the cut out face downwards?

+1 for Vesrah, with the exception of their stem seals which have got worse in my opinion. Vesrah made many of the oem gaskets for bike manufacturers in Japan and still do as far as I know.

Throttle cables - do you oil?

Recently returned from 800 mile mini tour in wales during storm Babit, very interesting over the high mountains in the north with the rain and gale force winds to say the least, had an issue with either one or both throttle cables, sticky throttle and not returning under spring force, tried oiling i...

Re: Oops.....need tank repaired

Er thats quite some incident Pete! Bummer. If it were me I would take it to a car bodyshop, they have amazing gadgets to remove dents, bend and stretch metal etc, am thinking of the spot welded pullers here. They won't like it if tank smells of fuel though, I would rinse it out with hot soapy water ...
