Re: rd 400 rebuild

Looks like a lot of us cut our teeth on those. My first big bike was an RD250c. I loved it and would have gone for a red & white 400 after that. But the 'elsie' came along which turned me into a drooling teenage wreck.

Re: GPZ1000RX Project

The chaps in the GPZ900 club know lots about those. They're not an uncommon engine swap when your 900 goes bang, and some of them run 1000s as well as their 900s. Helpful fellows as well when I did my 900 rebuild. Could be worth joining if you need advice.

Re: Aoshima 900 model kit, colour.?

There's a picture of the one I did in this thread:- http://z1ownersclub.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18606&p=164525&hilit=aoshima#p164525 The paint job was really hard, but turned out ok I think. The badges were printed on photographic paper to make them look 3d which you don't get u...

Re: I love it when a plan comes together!

A blue RD250C. Very nice. I had one of those as my first learner bike. I got spat off it - the footrest bracket under the pipe would ground out - looked good at night though. I nearly became a human torch with it once, when the fuel tank balance pipe let go all of the fuel over a hot engine once. Na...

Re: Kawasaki Day - Ace Cafe - Sun 15th Apr

Sunday is looking very good here weather wise now. The best thing is there's been plenty of rain to wash away all the salt. Time to go down the garage and see if I can get the old girl started! I'm looking forward to seeing you all again.

Kawasaki Day - Ace Cafe - Sun 15th Apr

Not too far away. I'll be there on my B as usual.

Probably a few of those new ones will turn up.

Standard Carb Setup

I think somebody wrote a guide to the standard carb setup on here. I searched, but couldn't find it. Does anyone know the link? Ta.

The weather's looking good for the day. For the last two weeks here, it's been a better than predicted by the BBC.

On the Ltd version, the sidepanels don't extend forward over the vertical frame tubes and makes it look a lot better.

Some top tips I've found useful keeping my zed in the shed over winter. WD40 down the 4x4s and then surgical gloves over the end of each one. I find that draining the carbs down has a downside. The O rings on the fuel union tees shrink and leak like a bastard when you put new fuel in for the new sea...

Have a good time guyz. I wish I could go again.

But I fell over at Spa while pissed, and broke a metacarpal in my left hand on a concrete stair.

Clutch hand in plastercast. Fell over and broke it while on the sauce at Spa. I hope it'll be ok for the SW rally this year. Just as the nice weather is kicking in. Dammit!!
