Keep the pics coming as you go through the refurb - it's always good to see another Zed being put back on the road.

Shim Exchange Service
I've just PM'ed Ginger Bear to see if I can exchange some shims, but then noticed he hasn't been active on the forum since Jan 2020.
Does anyone know if the shim exchange is still running please?
They're the under bucket type for an 84 Z750.
Thanks all.

Re: Returned to the fold
Oh, the other thing I forgot to mention - you will need to expand your tool kit. Pretty much all recent HD's are a mix of metric and imperial size hex, 12 point, allen socket heads and torx drives!

Re: Returned to the fold
Always great to hear some history and see them old photos. I would be interested to hear what Harley you went with and your experience...... not that I was thinking about going there you understand  Mmm - the HD thing. There's a whole "lifestyle" you can buy into with an HD, I've me...

Z750-1.jpg This is the Zed I've just bought - funds don't stretch to a big 'un these days! 2014-06-22 17.05.27.jpg This is a Z / GPZ / LTD hybrid I assembled from various bikes / bits / donations during hard times. It actually turned out to be a really good (but ugly) bike. Did a lot of miles on th...

Returned to the fold
So after a brief foray into Harley world I'm now back in the sensible world of Kawasaki, have negotiated the purchase of another Zed (see thread in the Discussion Board) and renewed my membership.
So Hi everyone, and I apologise for all the noddy questions in advance!

Brake Help!
At last I have managed to get back to working on the Z650 and am making a start on the front brakes. The master cyl and front caliper need rebuilding but I have run into a couple of problems: The master cylinder does not appear to be a Kawasaki one - unless anyone can ID it? http://i320.photobucket....

Sprocket Nuts
I think I'd like to replace the rusty old sprocket nuts on the 650 with some nice shiney M10 x 1.25 stainless nyloc nuts.
Anyone know who can supply nylocs in metric fine?
Even Google hasn't come up with anything

Z650 - Rear Drum Brake lever, pivot and nut
Hi All,
As above really - it's a Z650B1 / 2.
I am after the lever at the drum end not the brake pedal (!) hopefully with the little pivot, that the actuasting rod passes through, and the adjuster nut.
I can do check, Paypal or cash on collection if local?
Over to you guys.

Dribbly Head Gasket - Automatic Leather Water Proofing!
After a recent high speed blast (in the **ssing rain on the way back from the last Z1 OC SW meet) the old Z550 developed a rather alarming pair of oil leaks at the head gasket. One each side, right by the oil way up to the cylinder head. Not that I was complaining at the time as they stopped the wat...

Sorry to hear about your troubles mikey - at least you weren't drowned by the resident Z1OC SW rain god :!: Good to see Ralph and Marion again, and meet up with Ginger Bear, his better half and Simon(?). Sorry I couldn't hang around long Ralph - I'll try and plan the family commitments better next t...
