Re: HowieD's 'arris

Issue 2. On my last ride out on Horace, I noticed the gear change was even sloppier than previously, even missing gears sloppy. Checking out the mechanism showed me that about 1/4 of the movement was taken up with pushing the Gear Change Shaft forwards. The Boss on the outrigger plate had very badly...

Modified Clutch Cover

Hello - Does anyone have one of these Clutch covers with an added oil filler for sale ?

Or know I could make one - thinking of the threaded part to be welded on.

Did you use the original master cylinder with the cable?
Cheers

Re: My Z1R just finished

Ignore the corrosion, it's the only picture I have of them. This is what I had to do to sort the brakes ! Obviously I went onto further mods a bit later on.

Re: Hydraulic clutch conversion ?

Re: Throttle cables - do you oil?

I've always oil mine. I open them up at the throttle and pour engine oil through till it comes out at the carbs.

It's one of those installations where you look, cock your head and look again and think - someone really worked out the geometry plus thinking outside the box to use the kick-start space to good use

A beauty - the rear brake Master cylinder actuation set up is very impressive.

If you have trouble with the clutch slave, which you prolly will with it being Ducati, then Oberon make much higher quality that will bolt straight on.

Re: Z1R restoration project

That looks ready to go, once you have a screen, original spark plug caps too ! Just a couple of things to look for in my experience: Underneath the front mudguard for corrosion where the rivets go. The condition of the frame around the right side swinging arm pivot - mine rusted through where water ...
