squirrly effect was due to me not fitting a spacer i have now had made and it fits superb....wheel is now finished and im happy..

well the wheel i bought came with the tyre on it....but it fits lovely,all im waiting for now is a spacer for the caliper side to take up the slack because of the different size spindle..

so far.so good...550zephyr wheel on and looks awesome...took out bike to check,just up road....hmmm..slightly weird..discovered rear 550 spindle needs a spacer,caliper side,had to shave down right side spacer as wheel as it needs to be 13mm length,so now have to sort another spacer to be fitted betw...

zephyr rear wheel
hi everyone,im now fitting a zephyr 550 rear wheel into my 78 z1000 a2,everythings good until i came to the caliper side rear wheel spacer,just a tad too wide to accomadate the rear caliper and chain adjuster,so i have either to shave my spacer down to suit or does anyone know if another spacer does...

hi,sorry its taken so long,but i checked the number with Dave Marsden at Z power and sure enough its an ltd frame,engine is proper A2 but frame is ltd,you can also tell by the rear footrest hanger which mine is kinda triangle shaped.....that is the only difference..and its done quite a bit..basicall...

hi everybody....having just discovered { grrrrrr} that my z1000 a2 is really a LTD,i have now decided to convert my rear wheel to get a bigger tyre back there...cos it looks better...now i have heard all i need is a zephyr swingarm,can anybody tell me what one??...550..750..1100 ??..or any other inf...

i have a set of mikuni vm26 carbs for sale for a suzook gs1000,poss 850 aswell,i think they also fit the kwak z1000.but the suz uses a cable choke...been stripped and ultra cleaned, all new jets etc...contact for photos or info...£150 +pp...Rob

anybody got a spare vm26 carb body they wanna flog...im after number 2 body....can anyone help..or does the vm26 carb body off a suzuki gs750/850 fit ???

right,carbs off again,throttle valves needles out and the jet circlip is one notch above bottom...should i go higher ?

i do know that the corr jets should be right,because you have to fit them opposite the air screw which mine are,anyway,just took it out for a quick test,much much better but still bogging when cracked open,will pull,but you have to increase gradually.....raise needles ???

soon find out tomorrow,but thats good news not to change the stock pilots tho....a/corr jets are in the correct position,in fact someone had already tapped the carbs out to suit....just hope it dont rain tho lol...

hi kev,im using vm26 at mo,but i have just discovered that the pod filters im using are covering the air inlet ports,like where the air correctors fit,totally blocking them,have fitted another set i had which are open,not blocking the ports...i have assumed the floats are ok,big mistake i know,(basi...
