Yep ,I didn't know until I watched that program. Apparently about 6 years since it closed as a pub. Supposedly the highest distillery in the uk now, doesn't really count though as it's gin not whisky, that honour goes to Dalwhinnie in Scotland.

My dad made me this one in 1979 for my A2 and I am still using it on my J2. My local kawasaki dealer loaned me one and dad took it to work without telling me and came home with 2.

I think that was when MCN called it the best motorcycling road in the uk and everyone suddenly decided to use it as a race track leading to multiple deaths. Now it is average speed cameras but 50mph is enough through most of the bendy bits.

Though my j2 is not old enough by 4 years you can still go on the run just not as a registered rider. My mates where all on british bikes as where 95% of the 90 or so riders taking part. Thanks paul, once I had started the back to ridable restoration it was a difficult decision not to do a full nuts and bolts back to standard job. I do really enjoy riding this one and can't believe it cost a couple of grand more to restore than it cost to buy new.

Stunning bike, club members seem to get some very interesting back drops for their bike pic's which also give some good ideas for days out.

The only pics I could find of my A2 are terrible but I can't expect much more as small pocket cameras where rubbish 45 years ago. I don't even have any decent photos of my Suzuki GT550.
Hopefully I may find some at my dad's house as he had good cameras.
