Re: Z1000 A2 Speedo cable

I have an A2 for over 5 years now I have not bought a speedo cable but I have replaced the push / pull accelerator cables from Wemoto - quality seems good. You have to be careful with the A2 cables as the uk bars are lower than other models If in doubt talk to ZPower - I have used since 1986 - extre...

Re: Old and new.

I wish the new bike was closer to the original. But they already had a shot at it with the Zephyr, which ironically is probably a closer relation to the original 900. Calling it the Z900 is clearly a marketing ploy and lets face it - it probably does everything better. After 40 years it ought to! Th...

Re: Run out on the H2

It is one of the best bikes from the 70's
It would be nice to see an echo of this in the latest H2 but unfortunately I do not see it.

Your photo locations show it well!

Wow - yes I like that - the paint colour really suits it.
I think 'very tidy' is a bit of an understatement
Good luck with the sale

Re: Points or Electronic ignition

For Dyna s - Main advantage - as has been said - is lack of maintenance. Main disadvantage is if it goes wrong - employing a 'get you home' fix will not be easy. Having said that - Both the original points and the Dyna s are known to be fairly trouble free. I have dyna coils and the original points ...

Re: fuel hose

Agree with Philippe - I only fill up bikes with the 'Superunleaded' options - and only the 95 octane regular unleaded when I have no choice.
(although over here the ethanol content is still only 5% I believe)

Re: Reg/Rec Failure Symptoms

When my factory original reg rec failed in the late 80's I fitted an electrexworld unit which has been on since.
The symptom was a boiled dry battery and battery acid where you don't want it!

Re: Z1000-A1 rear brake master cylinder bleeding

I had similar issues with my A2 The key to sorting it involved a vacuum bleeder. The method that eventually worked for me was: 1 attach the vacuum bleeder to the caliper in the normal way 2 remove the brake line connection to the master cylinder and place in brake fluid container and then draw fluid...

Re: Quick Spin

Quite a productive day really - when I got back I decided to do a job i've been meaning to do for over a year - fit a new starter button to replace the broken one. Might be me being ham fisted but I found it a right faff. While I was into the throttle assembly I also fitted new cables. Only problem ...

Sampled some empty roads

Instead of watching the footy I decided to take the A2 for an (almost) deserted roads run out.
