Re: Moidart classic road run
Great pictures - I would love to borrow the Laverda for a week or two! - A mate of mine had a Laverda a few years ago but found the Mirage's reversed brake - gear change controls tricky to get used to. Some very cool bikes there.

Re: A4 Advance retard unit.
I had an issue similar to this a few years ago on a z1000. I changed the points for a different set and all was well. I think it was said at the time that sometimes non original points sets can cause problems in setting up timing.

Probably a lot of us should ride them more than we do - inspired me to go out today and get some miles in - Shame to waste the sunny weather!

Re: First Run out of 25
When I lived in North Manchester I took a ride up to Devils Bridge at Kirkby Lonsdale - which is a bit further south. Great looking bike and some fantastic roads up there.

Thanks for comments -
Hi Zapo !
I sold my KH400 in 1980 !
The S however is progressing since last year's session at Twistgrip motorcycles has improved things.
Still not 100% perfect for me.
If you want to meet for a coffee (maybe Abbots Bromley again?) I can bore you to death with the full story!

Another 1st run of the year
I wish I could say the pictures were taken as I pulled into my drive - but unfortunately not!

Re: Dyna coil screw size
Very surprised at that - the M5 fitted absolutely perfect for the whole length.

Re: Dyna coil screw size
Took the screw out of a disused green dyna coil and inserted a screw which I am pretty sure is m5. (KH400 switchgear screw) So you should be ok with m5 replacement - you should also use a split washer. For info the threaded section is about 8mm and the head of the screw is quite wide at about 9mm. D...

Re: Seat Pan interchangeability
Not sure how relevant to the seat pan but Philippe made some observations about A1 & A2 seat differences here:

Re: Mikuni 28mm carbs
I had a Z1r since the 80's and acquired an A2 in 2013 - (and sold the Z1R in 2021). I still have the A2 but for a few years was able to make direct comparisons. I always felt the Z1r was more planted on the road and inspired more confidence but whether it was much faster in real road conditions is v...

Re: Peak district tour
Great picture. Tuesday was a great day for biking - almost like Summer! I was out and about too - finally got my carb setting right having had them off the bike. The fuel screw (sometimes referred to as pilot screw) needs to be 1 1/4 turns from fully seated and it now runs perfect. Might take her ou...
