Re: Well its a Kwak and its green and it was cheap !
I too had a C1 (green one) and I found it very fast with superb brakes. The only minus point was in cold weather it would suffer carb icing. You could add a silkolene additive to the fuel which resolved the problem. I believe C2 and E models have some kind of heating to alleviate. It is a great bike...

Re: z1r rear light bracket
Uk ones have the indicator stems welded as part of the light bracket
Us ones are as in the pic and the indicators attach to the frame lugs
so if you get the US ones you will need the indicators separately.

Re: Indicators
I have mini indicators fitted to a Z1R - similar to these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bike-It-Mini-Indicators-Long-Stem-In-Carbon-Look-With-Clear-Lens-Pair/302296106669?hash=item46624086ad:g:mAAAAOSwkShZAGhz Not too difficult to fit & if you don't like clear lens they also come in the usual ambe...

Re: Z1R Front Brake Lines
These are the best pics I can take at the moment. If you are after something identical to original in appearance you will spot they are slightly narrower and also slightly less matt - more of a silk black in appearance. It was not an issue for me and the performance more than makes up for it. They c...

Re: Z1R Front Brake Lines
I have Hel (black finish) brake lines - front and rear - on an otherwise standard set up Z1R.
They work very well and I would recommend them.
Cheers

Re: 'New' KH250...
I had one on an R plate for about 18 months and learned to ride on it while saving for something with more performance. I enjoyed riding it but my lasting memory is I always wanted it to go faster! It is physically large for a 'measly' 250 but that makes it a comfortable bike to ride and in my opini...

Re: Z1R Right Seat Rail
Just a thought that you can get parts repaired professionally.
I used this service a few years ago for some zx9r parts
http://www.plastics-surgery.com/
End results were very good.

Don't apologise for the number of pics
I think it looks great
Just shows what can be done with a little time & effort.
(ok .... a lot of time & effort!)

Re: Z1R Handlebars
I have a Z1R (D1) and a Z1000 A2
A2 bars are I believe slightly lower than predecessors - (A1 and the 900's.)
Z1R bars are definitely lower and narrower than A2
I do not wish to sell the bars on either bike!

Re: Z1R Handlebars
I always thought Z1R bars were lower than an A2
However you may be correct Philippe.
I have both and to me the 1R definitely feels lower and narrower.

Re: 1978 z1000A2
The top (red) one is looks like mine when Dave Cullen owned it afew years ago.
It is now wearing twin discs, and the original pipes make the engine very quiet
Much more than than the 4 into 1 on a z1r.
If you are thinking of buying one I would say go for it!

Re: Z1-R Tank Drain Elbow
I replaced mine about 5 years ago but could not find an original for sale. The problem with the original is It is made in 2 halves (lengthwise) and over time it literally falls apart. So I bought a couple of these off ebay & cut the one I have in use down to size DSCF9055.JPG It is basically a r...
