Re: Coils

I’ve been using them on my z1000 (still running points) for the past year. No problems with them at all.

Fuel hose

What fuel hose do members use on their bikes? I’ve tried a number of different suppliers but it all seems to harden quite quickly with this modern crap fuel rendering it pretty useless after a while. Any recommendations for decent fuel hose that’ll fit a Z1000a1 with the fuel tap spigots close toget...

Z1000 A1/A2 sprocket carrier

I’m looking for a sprocket carrier (42008-034, coupling) for my Z1000A1 spoked wheel. I’ve tried all usual routes, eBay etc. but they seem to be in short supply.

If any forum member has a spare one kicking around that they would be willing to sell, it would be appreciated.

Cheers

Z1000 A1 rear wheel query

I wonder if any knowledgable forum members could advise as to what rear hub I have on my ‘77 z1000 A1 bike. It doesn’t look like others I have seen which have different sized spoke flanges ie the one on the disk side is smaller in diameter than the sprocket side. Mine seems to have identical diamete...

Re: Z1000 A1 primary jet query

Thanks for clarifying Speedie. The o rings didn’t look right and weren’t in the parts diagram but I’d thought I’d better check first before I removed them. You never know with these quirky old motors!

Z1000 A1 primary jet query

Just a quick question for the experienced technical members: I had my carbs on my recently purchased 1977 z1000 A1 stripped down and checked over recently and noticed that the 17.5 primary jets had o rings fitted to them where they screw into the carb body. Looking at the parts diagram it doesn’t sh...

Re: Hi from SW Scotland

Very Nice.... What's the plan.... Back to standard or further mods?. Think I’ll live with it as is for now, maybe just give give it a general polish and tidy up. Don’t fancy the time and expense of restoring it back to standard. Wouldn't take that much 'time' wise, ie new paint, pipes and a correct...

Hi from SW Scotland

New to the forum and just bought a 1977 Z1000. Have had a lot of air cooled Zs in the past but mostly 400Js, Z550s and Gpz750s- this is my first big Z.
Engine was running a bit rough when I got it but stripped and rebuilt the carbs today and it’s now running like a dream. Great bike!
