Re: Dyna coil screw size
Great, thanks for checking,
I didn’t want to mess up the thread by forcing a wrong screw in.

Re: Installing Wheel bearing
Thanks for the replies, Yeah agreed, no problem if done carefully, I’ve seen people using a club hammer to remove bearings without heating, equally seen bearings installed ‘on the huh’ Just thought pressing in is a bit kinder to nearly 50 year old hubs, A good idea, a threaded 10mm rod would seem ea...

Installing Wheel bearing
Hi all, I the past, to remove wheel bearings, I heat the hubs with hot air gun and gently tap out with a suitable drift, when installing I heat the hubs again, carefully tap new bearings in after them being in the freezer overnight. As wheel hubs are now valuable and I want to be extra careful when ...

I believe he stopped making them a while ago now,
I don't know if there are any 4 > 2 options left.
I had to pass up a set due to bad timing money wise,
but have been looking again.

Re: Shim replacement
If the cam timing is correct the valves cannot contact each other no matter which direction you rotate the crank. Cam timing is ok. Re read the manual several times, Just to be 100% sure here, the inlet valve (cyl1) is held open by tool, rotate the engine backwards via timing bolt to point cam away...

Re: Shim replacement
Great, Thanks for that info, just was hesitating
Btw is a Kawasaki service bulletin that says the valve clearance should now be .10-.15 available anywhere?
It has been ‘discussed’ over a few beers and would be helpful to be able to point at something ,
Cheers,

Shim replacement
Hi all, I have read every posting I can find, but want to clarify one point when swopping valve shims. ( Z1000 1978) What I have done ; Plugs out, cam cover off, measured clearances, need to change 2 inlets. So, valve 1, rotate cam with kickstart until cam pushes valve fully open. Fit kawa tool on c...

Re: Z1000 A2 fuel tap
seems to work so far, 250 mile trip last weekend, no leaks,
getting good hoses is key, the tap needs 6mm ID, carbs inlets are a bit bigger.
MadMoped, (ebay seller) say their hoses are stretchy and will fit,
I used what I had to hand. being a tightwad....
cheers,
