If it's 147 cc, it could be out of an Invacar - the vehicle that was made for disabled people.

I think the metzlers are a better tyre. Check out the M&P site for sizes and prices. I've got them on my A1 and A4 and found them very good in all weather conditions.

Looking good. The z1 side panel badges look better than the standard z900 ones. I think I'll stick some on my a4.

The panel is for a z1000 a1 or a2 and possibly the ltd models. The mounting lug at the bottom is different from the A4. On the a4 the bottom lug fits into the toolbox and on the z1000's there is a small bracket which is fixed using the two bolts which hold the rear brake master cylinder.

Lovely looking bike and I would keep those wheels .

What is the difference between a z1 and z1000 a1 cam cover?

Well done and now I think it wouldn't bre a bad idea to give the bike a bit of dust down and polish up.

Any problems getting it started or did it all go to plan?

Paul, I thought the mafia were based in Sicily. Have they opened an Ireland franchise?

Just out of interest, how do you put a price on a bike like Davy's Z1?

The bopdged HT leads are sorted now thanks to Ginger bear for the Dyna coils. Checked the gearbox thoroughly and luckily it ;ooks as if it is just the selector forks. Just need to order new sump gasket and a couple of oil seals. I'm determined to have the z900 sorted for the summer, although I recal...

Stu, I've taken the chrome springs from the shocks I got from you and will be replacing the black springs from the one's on my Z900 which have been polished.
I may use your one's on my z1000 a2 project if I ever get around to sorting it out or pass them on if I sell the bike as a project.

Update - six months on and all I have to boast about is that the missing seat hinge bracket on the frame has been replaced and a few bits polished. Not much I know but a darn sight more than the progress over the last 10 years.
Pics to follow.
