Thanks John,I had never changed my front sprocket and now have received the front, rear and chain from z power and the new front sprocket offsets!!! That explains why it was rubbing the cover and the knackered chain explains the wear

Z900 front sprocket cover
Hi guys,just doing general maintenance before long run at the weekend and found wear on the front sprocket inner cover and side wear on the sprocket.The sprocket nut was tight with no play whatsoever.

Well spotted al. Mine is a 98 zephyr 1100 and hasn’t got that rod and I imagine that would make installation a lot easier

I have taken the tensioner out with the carbs still on but it was bloody difficult to get that long spring back in,it took so long I wish I had taken the carbs off!!!

Next thing is definitely a compression test,could swap the coils around just to make sure.My 1100 struggled to start when warm and ended up being the induction coil

Quick bit of advice from you knowledgeable chaps,when to put the decals on.This is going on a zephyr 1100 ( wire wheels ) choices are after base coat before lacquer,couple of coats of lacquer then apply decals with a couple of lacquer after or completely finish tank then apply
