Re: Carburetor Stand

Looks very good. I have a couple of pieces of plywood with some old carb inlet rubbers bolted to, does a similar job. I too used 2 old inlet rubbers at first. But since I also have a 1993 Triumph Trident 900 with Mikuni BST 36 carbs. Having the ability to adjust the spacing of the mounts, and just ...

Carburetor Stand

Having acquired a set of VM26’s of warren3200gt I decided that working on them would be a lot easier if I had a carburetor stand. I looked online and found a video demo of the K&L Supply stand, which looked perfect for the job. But at around £160 mark I thought it a little expensive. But it did ...

Re: Z1 z1000 bits

They are for my 77 z1000 A1. According to the Z1000 parts manual they share thee same carbs. So I would definitely be interested in them.
If you could let me know the condition, and cost that would be very much appreciated, either via this post or pm, whichever you prefer.
Many thanks
Roger

Re: Cam followers removal Z1000 A1

Just a big thank you to all for your assistance. I bought a 25mm Neodymium fishing magnet off Amazon (capable of lifting 9Kg) and with the help of some compressed air down the oil gallery. I manage to get them out. I've never come across such stubborn buckets before especially the exhaust ones. Is t...

Cam followers removal Z1000 A1

Hi everybody. I'm having great difficulty removing the cam followers from the head. Is there a knack to this or is it always a pig to get them out. They do rotate , but only when tapped with ground down screwdriver. I've tried using a strong magnet on the top, but I don't seem to be able to generate...

Re: Sprocket cover Z1000 A1

Thanks to all for your advice. I've looked for the part 92075-314, without any joy, so I might try getting a car sound proofing foam pad and cut that to size.

Sprocket cover Z1000 A1

Hi everybody, I've just been cleaning up my sprocket cover and clutch release assembly and I wonder if anyone knows if there is a replacement for the absorbent foam within the sprocket cover.
As you can see from the photo it's pretty shitty.
I look forward to your thought on this matter

Hello Everybody

Hi to all. Just joined the forum having recently acquired a 1977 Z1000 A1. (Yes I know it has A2 forks) I live in North Yorkshire (UK). I have previously owned a 1976 Z900 A4. This bike was built for it's previous owner as an homage to Henry Coles (The Motorbike Show) Z1000 which was rebuilt by Alle...
