Re: Carb issues

I know these Z1B carbs are a pig to get set up right so i might try and find a set of pumpers to stick on it. I reckon they are better carbs and Ive got a lot more experience working on them. Cheers

Re: Carb issues

Not on the later Z1B carbs Warren, they have a screw and lock nut syncronising set up so you don’t need to take the top covers off. Unlike the later z1000 carbs, they dont have an actuating rod operating all four carbs, there is a linkage that serves two banks. I put grease over the area where the s...

Re: Carb issues

Maybe (see attached), and obviously I know about the air leaks because im posting about the actuator seals which will affect the vacuum. I was hoping someone might have changed the seals and might be able to help regarding where to source replacements. Bike actually runs and starts well when warm an...

Re: Frankenzed

I just wanted to build something with practical upgrades - being able to fit modern rubber was one requirement, modern brakes was another. ZZR bits (wheels, forks, swinging arm) are cheap as chips, I got the lot for 200 quid, but are more than up for the job so happy days (although the front brake s...

1979 z1000ltd bits for sale....cheap!

Re: Frankenzed

Thanks Mark, not bad for a mix of Z and ZZR bits, it rides great and stops very well with H**** blackbird M/C and calipers and EBC pro-lite discs.

Hi All, thought i'd join up and support the forum that ive used for years as 20 quid a year seems very reasonable for all the technical info available. I live in Tiverton in Devon, I had a lot of Zeds from the mid eighties on starting with a z650b3, then a z1000j, an imported z900, z1000 in a 650 fr...
