The original parts were anodised in black satin and there are people out there that offer the process.
Some restorers now Cerocoat them which is more durable than paint.

They are double skinned.
More importantly, keep the carbs balanced and mixture correct to avoid blueing, too lean will blue the exhausts.

Today, Sunday 06.05.2024,1973 brown and orange Z1 heading in an easterly direction on the A515 towards Ashbourne around 10.00am.

The Z1 items were upgraded to Z900 type as they used to split around the hole.
