The ones that hold the camshaft bearings caps down.

Not the chrome cam cover bolts.

Thanks.

Cam Cap Bolt Spec ?

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but I can't get the search to work very well.

What are the spec of the cam cap bolts please ? I think someone has put cam cover bolts in mine

M6 x 1 x 45 ? 8.8 or 10.9 tensile ?

Thanks.

Re: Possible to mix top and bottom engine casings?

I've ordered some Lumiweld. It does not appear to be leaking so I'll just aim to make it stable. I'll be more comfortable hitting it with heat from a gas torch than the TIG so I think it will do the job from what you've said. I'll let you know. When fitting the top and bottom casings together is the...

Re: Possible to mix top and bottom engine casings?

thanks zed1015. I may just clean it and dress back a bit to see how stable it is then.
I might even have a gentle go at it with the TIG.

Re: Possible to mix top and bottom engine casings?

Current engine number is KZTAE-018387. I'll try and get some pictures of the damage but it's right next to where the oil pump outlet mates to the casing. It looks like someone has potentially but too long a bolt in the engine-frame mount that is right next to it. There is a plug there that banks off...

Possible to mix top and bottom engine casings?

A per the title, can you mix top and bottom engine casings on the same generation of engine ?
I have some damage on the lower casing but the top is fine.

Anyone got a casing for a z1000A1 they might want to part with ?

1977 Z1000A1

Seems to be the only thing I post on here :( but…. I’m considering selling my 1977 Z1000A1, again. Originally from the US but imported and UK registered in 1994. I have owned since Jan 2009 and did a major restoration between 2009 and 2010. This included a complete strip down and rebuild with all of...

Re: 4:2 exhausts....z1000 A options ??

They are working on the sidestand plate. As per my other post on this topic, I'm already in discussion with these guys to get a club bulk buy - if we purchase 5 wee cab get 15% discount. Might be able to get that a bit higher as that was their first offer. I would be very interested in a set. Put m...

Re: Gauging interest in my Z1000

Thanks chaps.

Anyone on here interested at £4500 ? I'd rather it went to someone here than pimping it out on eBay.

If not I'll give eBay some thought over the weekend.
