Re: Paint codes for Z1 brown/ orange

You can buy touch up paint / aerosol cans / spray paint - from RS BIKE PAINT, which will be a 2 or 3 stage process.

http://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/colours.php

If you want a respray contact Hutch @ Pontefract Paint and Panel (01977 700011) - a Club member who uses the correct paint.

2-3 week turnaround and they listen (ie, they will not polish where you ask not to).
Think they were about £75 for my last rim about 1 year ago

Thanks for that, will give them a bell tomorrow.

Plating Companies

Any recommendations over a strip and re-chrome a rear rim.

Have spoken to Ashford Plating - his turn around is 8 - 12 weeks, but unable to guarantee he will not grind out the TAKASAGO codes. W.T.F.

Had a look unfortunately my spare hub has not got any fitted. Looking at the hub today there only purpose is to protect the end of the screws which hold the dust cap in place.

Some people see pound signs on anything which is Z1 related and bump up price.

There’s 3 of them. I should have some on a spare hub I have. If I do you can have them for free.

They are plugs for the bolts which secure the chrome dust cap bolts fit into.

Re: Z1 front wheel spindle

Any score marks on the flat will probably not visible, but will be a weak spot and could lead to corrosion.

It may be manageable, you could smear the damaged area with grease, (keep your fingers crossed), or get the axle re-plated.

Picture might help ?

What about snipping the spokes and taking the hub into work and clamping other end in a vice then getting a big spanner on the other Ady Should work. Last week I managed to undo a stubborn axle with two spanners, one taped to end then gently hit with a 2lb hammer. Helps if you have a spare pair of ...
