Re: KZ1000 carbs

Sounds like the rear of the air box is missing, and if it is running on stateside jets it possibly has 102.5 mains and 15 pilots which will be a tad weak with your set up, my stateside b is on 107.5 mains and 20 pilot with after market exhaust and it runs really well, my old A2 used to run rough wit...

You don't say what sort of problems you are having and what sort of set up you have, i.e exhaust, air box, jetting, is everything else as it should be like clearances, timing, points.

Re: Pilot Jets...

Are the carbs the right ones, i have a ltd but it has A1,2 carbs and it had the same problem even with 17.5 jets, the actual problem was the bike leant over too far meaning the fuel level would be too low on the right hand side of the bike and would do the same as yours as it has the short jets in t...

Re: Carb tuning and tappets

They are shims, and yes you need to check those, also cam chain tension, engine timing, a whole service really with the carb balancing last.
