I am a bit late to this thread, i have just looked in my factory service manual and there is no spring under the needle clip, have you looked at the underneath of the lifter mechanisms to see if they are worn and allowing excess needle movement, you say you have a K&N, have you increased the pil...

Got them all out Sunday took the Hodna and the Zed out for a spin, nice to get away from the TV, the XS is not on the road yet but will be soon just to run in though, had a + 0.5 re-bore, then it will be a complete strip and sympathetic re-build.

You can also get a metallic noise from the cam buckets if worn, but just like the end float on the cams it's nothing to get overly worried about, my own has an intermittent noise from cam end float even though the head is a rebuilt one from a well respected engine builder, it's something that they g...

Correct. The length difference on A2 is due to re positioning the caliper behind the fork. Correct length is 94cm

Speedo cable is not affected by handlebar height.

I got mine as soon as they came out, my Mrs was very unkind about it, the bikes were nice she says but the backdrops were boring, but she worded it differently, still i will put it up in the same place.

I have an inlet cam it has some marking and two small pits but they won't affect the running, 24.46mm on all 4 journals,you can have it just pay postage.

I think they are cast iron, and the best way is muggy welding, which most don't do.
