Re: Best chrome 4:1 Exh for a Z1?

For me it would be Delkevic all the way, i have the straight type on my 350/4 and had one on my XS650, the quality is good the price is better and they are not going to suffer with rust, although you get that brown discolouration on the headers, that just shows the bike is getting used.

Re: A4 Carb T-Pieces repair?

So in effect what you are saying is new would be best, and that is exactly what i do with any of these old rubber parts, soaking these parts in thinners, silicone, green soap, is just temporary, may as well bite the bullet and buy new.

Re: Z900A4 Carbs

Yes put the carbs back on first, if the rubbers are hard, bin them and buy new, beats a lot of huffing and puffing.

Re: A4 Carb T-Pieces repair?

The only downside to doing this is if the carbs are left dry again for a period of time, the tee's shrink back again.

Re: Z900A4 Carbs

Remove the carb to airbox rubbers first, cables, pipes, undo the front clips, pull carbs back remove from left side, job done.

Re: Camchain tensioner Adjustment ( Z1 900 73 )

Turn engine over forwards a couple of times using a spanner, then set either pair of cylinders on the T mark, loosen the tensioner so it takes up the slack re-tighten, job done.

Re: Cam Cap Bolts

There are two different finish on bolts for these naturally from different years, Chrome and bare steel the chrome use the 7-8 ft/lb and the bare steel use 12 ft/lb, but i always use a short 10mm spanner and just nip them up like Z1parr says
